USANA Honored By Utah Council For Worksite Health Promotion

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--USANA Health Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: USNA - News) received an award on Thursday from the Utah Council for Worksite Health Promotion in recognition of the company’s outstanding wellness program.

USANA was recognized with a Platinum Award at an awards luncheon at the Salt Lake Community College Miller Campus. Brad Pace, USANA wellness coordinator and personal trainer, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

USANA’s wellness program includes a fully equipped in-house gym, full-time personal trainer, smoking cessation program, extensive annual health fair and free nutritional products and fruit for employees.

“USANA works hard to help its employees live healthier lives and provides them with many opportunities to do so,” said Dan Macuga, USANA vice president of marketing and public relations. “It is an honor to be recognized for all of the hard work USANA has put into its wellness program.”

Companies that received a Platinum Award have wellness programs that have been in operation for a minimum of five years, are available to all employees and spouses, have a mission statement and a budget, and complete a variety of activities outlined by the Utah Council for Worksite Health Promotion. This is the fourth consecutive year USANA has been recognized with a Platinum Award.

USANA received a 2008 Work/Life Award in July from the Utah Department of Workforce Services and the Office of Work & Family Life in recognition of the company’s exceptional workplace and wellness programs.
